    The NBack task is a multi-modal cognitive task in which the user is presented with single-digit numbers and must respond by saying or selecting the number presented N numbers ago. Trials are presented at a fixed pace for 2.25 sec with a 0.75 sec pause in between each trial. (For a more detailed discussion of this application and its use, please see the article at: http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?doid=2667239.2667293.)This app allows the user to select the following parameters:- The type of N-Back task to run (Training, Blank-, 0-, 1-, or 2-Back);- The stimulus type (Auditory, Visual, or Auditory-Visual);- The response type (Manual or Verbal);- The maximum run duration (30 seconds up to 3 minutes);- Vibration with stimulus presentation.Defaults settings for each of these parameters can be set on the "Default Settings" tab .At the end of each task run, a screen reports the users performance, including score, average response time, and total run time. Verbal responses are not scored but are recorded and saved to a designated folder on the device; the path to the audio file is printed on the summary screen.This application does not transmit any user data.Funded in part by US DOT.
